1 Equipment Introduction

The working principle is that the whole equipment surface contacted with concentrated sulfuric acid as the anode, and along the axial inside the shell setting several root cathode, sulfuric acid formed as current loop, apply the anode current by the potentiostat and make the surface of equipment anode polarization with potential rising to the initiating passive potential rapidly and coming to a passive area, maintain its potential in this area and a passive films is formed on the surface of the equipment to prevent corrosion.

2 Equipment Characteristics

Concentrated sulfuric acid of stainless steel cooler with anodic protection, developed in1982, with the first prototype created in 1984, was approved by the ministry of chemical industry in 1986 and was awarded item fund of technology development of science & technology ministry in 2000. Over 10 years' continuous development, Tianhua Institute of Chemical Machinery & Automation has solved problems in size and high temperature of anodic protection stainless steel sulfuric acid cooler, such as achieve the design and fabrication of equipments of 60 ~ 100 tons/year sulphur for acid and 40 ~ 100 tons/year smelting gas for acid.
